MALIKE SIBIDE
Teaching Artist & Alumni
Malike Sidibe is a West African New York City based photographer. His journey started in Côte d'Ivoire and took a detour through Guinea before ultimately moving to New York City at the age of 13. It was then he picked up a camera for the first time — a decision that would eventually lead to becoming a Nikon Ambassador.
Malike is inspired by the people he meets and the places he’s been, blending his multicultural background with vibrant, dreamlike imagery. He initially studied menswear design, but quickly realized that he was more interested in photographing clothes instead of making them. Today, his clients include Nike, Adidas, Puma, The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, New York Magazine, Time, Town & Country, Broadway, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Telegraph, and more.
To put it simply, Malike’s painterly interpretations of the world around him make the world a little more interesting, one photograph at a time.
