Devin Osorio (b.1993) is a first-generation Dominican American artist raised in the heart of Washington Heights, New York City. Deeply inspired by Dominican culture and folkloric traditions, Osorio’s work integrates intricate textile patterns and personal history, transforming lived experiences into secular reliquaries—paintings that commemorate a life shaped by cultural duality and self-discovery.

Devin’s creative process is rooted in revisiting and healing from the traumas of childhood. Though his upbringing was filled with love, he wrestled with internalized shame from growing up queer, fat, and gender nonconforming in a neighborhood where masculinity was often defined by gang culture. His art is a deliberate return to those memories, guided by gentleness and acceptance, with the goal of unlocking the parts of himself once hidden for survival.
