NYC Salt Strategic Advisor

Richard Grosbard brings a distinctive intellectual perspective and rigor to his many pursuits. He is deeply engaged in the education of high school and college students, most notably through his coaching and mentorship with NYC Salt in New York City. Richard also serves as Co-Chairman of the Photography Group at the Grolier Club, where he helps foster a vibrant community of photographers and collectors.
Richard’s most significant current role is as Director of the Deborah Turbeville Archive at the MUUS Collection, a position he has held since the archive’s acquisition in 2020. He is now leading a major project to produce a documentary on the life and work of Deborah Turbeville, drawing on the extensive materials he helped secure for the MUUS Collection.


A passionate collector and dedicated patron of the arts, Richard consults for a range of art organizations and artist groups, bringing both practical business acumen and a discerning eye to his advisory work. His ongoing contributions—intellectual, educational, and personal—have been invaluable to NYC Salt and to the broader art and photography communities. Above all, Richard has been an indispensable friend to NYC Salt and to Salt students and alumni.
